Will is a commercial and IP lawyer specialising in sport, media and entertainment, with a particular focus on sports media rights and broadcast partnership, sponsorship, and other rights licensing and collaboration, with a particular focus on sports media rights and broadcast partnership, sponsorship, and other rights licensing and collaboration.
Will works with a wide variety of clients, including broadcasters, rightsholders, federations and governing bodies, professional sports leagues and teams, sports technology providers, media production companies, agencies, athletes and other talent.
Prior to joining Level, Will was in-house legal counsel at global sports streaming service DAZN. Over 3 years, during which DAZN built an impressive rights portfolio worldwide, Will gained extensive experience in the acquisition, exploitation and protection of rights, and in the creation and distribution of content.
Prior to DAZN, Will spent 4 years at global law firm DLA Piper, including 6 months at the Premier League on a client secondment. Will was an Associate in the Intellectual Property, Media, Sport and Entertainment practice, where he gained a wide range of valuable legal experience including licensing (sponsorship, media rights, content etc.), event staging, dispute resolution, data protection (GDPR), advertising, and e-commerce matters.
