Rachael Somerset appointed to the Press Justice Project Council
Level’s 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘁 and 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗖𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗲 of EDS have been appointed as executive members of the newly formed 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹. Rachael and Alex, who are also joined by Rory Currin, will be supporting the PJP's work by providing invaluable expertise to the PJP on a voluntary basis.
Both Rachael and Alex will draw on their extensive experience in handling defamation, privacy, breach of confidence and harassment matters against the media to provide advice and guidance to those in need. In addition, they will be instrumental in the curation of events and education programmes delivered by the PJP to further the charitable objectives of education and promote awareness regarding press standards and accountability.
The PJP is a registered charity set up to offer advice to members of the public affected by “unethical behaviour” in the press, to educate and to push for higher standards in the media.
The PJP offers advisory and educational services directly to the public on how to tackle wrongdoing by newspapers and other media outlets. The PJP complements the work of the campaign group Hacked Off.
Level is delighted to support Rachael, the entire Council and the PJP in their work.
