Ann Harrison
Ann is an experienced solicitor specialising in copyright law and negotiating commercial contracts with a focus on the music industry and related fields.
She primarily represents the talent and entrepreneurial side of the business working with performers, songwriters, producers, managers and independent labels. She is also the business affairs lawyer for a large international music publisher. Her work includes all types of music contracts including recording, publishing, production, sponsorship, branding, merchandise and live agreements. She advises senior executives on their employment contracts. Her artist clients range from major stadium-filling acts to those just starting out in the business.
Ann has been recognised with several awards including an Accolade Award for Achievement from the Women in Music Trust. She has an Honorary Doctorate from UCLAN and is a Companion at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts.
Ann is the author of ‘Music: The Business’ published by Penguin Random House which is the leading textbook on higher education music courses in the UK. A 9th edition is due in 2025. She also regularly lectures and speaks at conferences.
